PACE Pesticide dose adjustment for orchards

Modification to the default assumptions for adjustment of spray plume height and dose adjustment calculation (draft document)

  • The default dose adjustment calculation method uses some simplifying assumptions (i.e. switching off/on the upper-most pair of nozzles gives a pro rata adjustment of both the spray plume height and applied dose rate).
  • However, some sprayers use nozzles of different size with height and this modifies the default dose adjustment calculation.
  • Also, if pressure losses are excessive then the default dose adjustment calculation method will need to be corrected.
  • The following look-up table is used to correct default assumptions and methods.
